WHS Percussion

The percussion ensemble at Westside consists of several different ensembles that happen throughout the year. In the fall the primary focus is using class time to rehearse marching band music. In the spring, our focus is to build and develop individual solos and small ensembles for the UIL solo and ensemble contest. Placement in all sections and and ensembles are all based upon audition. In addition to percussion ensemble, the percussion classes will actively participate with the concert bands in UIL Concert and Sight Reading. The band they participate with will also be based off of an audition process. Students involved in any of the classes are required to attend all functions/contests and be at every rehearsal outside of school.
