Solo and Ensemble season is quickly upon us! Students, if you are interested in participating in Solo and Ensemble in the Spring, you must have a solo picked out before you leave for Winter Break! Also, all selections must be approved by a director before a final decision can be made.
A list of all particpants currently signed up for S&E will be posted by the end of the day on Friday on Mr. Gonzalez' window; students, please check to see if your information is accurate. If you are planning on purchasing your own copy of your solo (which is encouraged) please let us know.
If you need help choosing a solo, please come by the band hall after your finals TODAY, thursday, 12/17. This is one of the last times you'll have the chance to select a solo before Winter Break begins. Also, make sure you have made a COPY of the solo, so you can play through it during the break. Students, you will NOT have class time to prepare your solo; you are expected to work on this music on your own, outside of class time.
If you are taking private lessons and you teacher has already chosen a solo for you, please come by Mr. G's office and tell him what you're playing, if you haven't already done so.
Finally, Symphonic Winds students: don't forget that your playing final is Friday during the 5th period final exam time. Mr. G will listen to WWs (Mr. Brunson's office) and Mr. B will listen to BRASS and ALL SAXOPHONES (Music theory Room).
Good luck!
