I am writing you to tell you about two VERY important things. Let me first tell you how great the students are doing in our rehearsals! They are working extremely hard - everyone is going to love the new show!
HISD is required ALL marching band members to do a physical before our first football game. Our first game is 8/27. There are only two options available to our members: 1.) Pay $20 for a physical at the WHS field house on 8/7 from 4-7pm or 2.) Get a physical from your personal doctor. MAKE SURE YOU GET THE PHYSICAL FORMS FROM MR. BRUNSON BEFORE YOU SEE THE PERSONAL DOCTOR. Again, this is REQUIRED for ALL students. This is a BIG change for the entire program - please be patient with us as we learn the new process.
Lastly, we passed out our summer band fundraiser today! I have worked extremely hard to lower the price of the band fees. They are already lower than last year - it will EVEN LOWER if you help with selling our coffee/smoothie/hot chocolate fundraiser. All items are $12 each. This is not cheap coffee - it's all premium high quality! Please make sure you take the money "up front" before the order is placed. Band gets 50% of every bag sold. OUR GOAL IS FOR EVERY STUDENT TO SELL AT LEAST 5 BAGS. Again, this will help the cost of the fee be lower than previous years. I have done my part to keep the cost down - please do your part and help!
