Updates & Updates & Details!

8/18/2017

What a fantastic week of summer band!  I can't wait for our fans to see the 2017 Magnum Opus show!  I had a long (very detailed!) conversation today with the entire Wolf Band.  I went over MANY important things.  I thought it would be best to do a short recap of our conversation. Again, it's only a recap - please ask your son/daughter for specific details.

Preview Night: 8/31 - Thursday This might be the most memorable night of the entire year!  We all get to celebrate together by watching the Wolf Band perform their first 2017 Magnum Opus preview, eating together, AND WATCHING YOU (YES, YOU!) LEARN HOW TO MARCH!  Every student is supposed to have ONE person take their place on the field! You will learn how to hold their instrument/flag, march "8 to 5" and learn part of the Magnum Opus Show!  I promise we will take care of you - don't worry!  It's going to be incredible fun!  Please meet us at the marching lot at 6:00 p.m. on August 31st.  Wear comfortable clothes (no flip flops)!

Wolf Band Spirit Wear: If you are interested in purchasing the Wolf Band Spirit Wear please turn in the order form by Friday, August 25th.  Students picked up a copy.  Digital copy can be found here: http://www.wolfband.org/forms.html

Coffe/Tea Fundraiser: The coffee is incredible - the same coffee that Pecan Grill serves exclusively. We only have two big fundraisers a year - please make your goal.  We are asking that students sell eight products or $40 cash donation.  This does not pay for your band fees - it keeps them down A LOT & lowers the Orlando trip price.  Due August 25th.

Orlando Florida Trip!: You don't want to miss this trip!  It's not too late if you missed the down deposit in the Spring semester or if you are a freshman!  Also, I am looking for freshmen parents that are interested in traveling too!  Please turn in the form by September 5th.  Details here: http://www.wolfband.org/forms.html

Physicals: All physicals are due August 25th.  No one can travel with the band until the physical is completely filled out and passed.  Some students have completed their physical but don't have the parent signature - please double-check with your child.

Forms! Forms! Forms!: Each student received a MASSIVE (I am so sorry!) packet.  Please fill out each page.  Lots of signatures!  Please turn them in by August 25th.  You can find a digital copy here: http://www.wolfband.org/forms.html

Fees: Please make sure your band fees are paid in full.  If you haven't paid yet - go to www.wolfband.org and make a payment today.

Let me know if you have any questions!  Again, I can't wait for our first public performance. You are going to be impressed!

Sincerely,

Joey Brunson

Fundraiser & Updates!

8/13/2017

Good afternoon,

I hope you had a wonderful weekend!  I wanted to write you an e-mail to tell you how excited I am about our Annual Coffee/Tea fundraiser.

I would like to be honest and transparent.  We are using a new coffee/tea company than years past.  I made a decision to stop using the company that I have used for eight consecutive years. I feel that the quality of the products was declining and the cost was rising.  I would like to apologize if you were not happy with the products last year.  I feel VERY confident that you will like the Duncan/Bright & Early Coffee products that we are selling this year.  Duncan Coffee is known for specializing in high quality coffee.  They are very hard to find - they sell mostly in "mom & pop" stores throughout Houston.  Pecan Grill sells only Duncan/Bright & Early coffee!  They sent Kelly and me a lot of samples of the summer break.  I am a coffee snob - I absolutely loved it.  My wife is begging to buy an entire years worth!

Every student has an order form with them.  We need to profit 4K on this fundraiser - which should be easy!  We will use this money to keep our band fees low and the promised discounted price for the Orlando, Florida trip.  We are asking each student to at least sell eight products OR have a $40 donation.  This will NOT go towards band fees.  Here is the really good news - we only do two large fundraisers each year.  Our coffee/tea & Winter March-A-Thon fundraiser.  PLEASE help us reach our goal - we will have problems throughout the year without it.

Again, you are going to like this coffee!  My favorite is Kona (seriously!!!!) & Cinnamon.  The teas are great too!

Thanks for your time.  Don't forget to come to Preview Night on August 31st!  Ask your child what we are doing - our parents get to learn their child's spot on the field!  :) You get to march and/or hold their instrument.  It's going to be incredible!!!!!! New tradition that will hopefully last forever!

PLEASE PLEASE pay your band fees if you haven't.  The online-pay-link is on the Wolfband.org home page.

Thanks,
