Shades of Blue 2017 is quickly approaching!

As many of you already know, this is our "Jazz Lounge"-type event and will take place Tuesday, February 28th, 2017. The evening will feature several ensembles in a relaxed and intimate setting. Outback is again catering our dinner, for which you can RSVP at a cost of $10/meal.

WHS Percusion Studio
WHS Indoor Drumline (performing their Spring 2017 show)
WHS Orchestra

Good Morning Senior Music-Students/Parents, 


If you are a Senior in the music program at Westside High School (Choir, Band or Orchestra) graduating in May 2017 and going to ‘major’ in music discipline at a college or university in the Fall of 2017, you can apply for a $1,000.00 music scholarship.  A $1,000.00 Scholarship winner will be announced on May 5, 2017. (If additional funds are available, an additional scholarship for $1,000.00 may also be awarded to another worthy student)

To apply the scholarship you must do the following:

1. Complete the 2017 Westside Music Boosters Scholarship Application by no later than March 31, 2017
   1. The paper application can be obtained from your music instructor. (Please contact john.tobin@lycos.com if you would like an electronic copy)
   2. Turn in the application to your instructor by no later than 3:15PM on March 31, 2017.  No exceptions.

To ensure impartiality, the applications will NOT reviewed by Westside Teachers or Parents.  The applications will be reviewed by two teachers in music programs and one non-music professional who do not reside in the Houston area. We hope this impartiality encourages all qualified students to apply so they can have some financial help in pursuing a career in music.     


*Please do not wait to fill out the application at the last minute.  Turning it early is encouraged.
