Mr. Bobby Guess, Music Coordinator

Bobby GuessBobby Guess, an honor graduate of the University of Houston Music School, studied private trombone with the late Al Lube - former Principal trombone with the Houston Symphony, Alan Barnhill - current Principal Trombone with the Houston Symphony,  John McCrosky - retired co-principal Houston Symphony, and George Roberts - recording artist with Frank Sinatra and Nelson Riddle.  Mr. Guess has been a private trombone instructor for over 20 years.  He works with students of all ages and at all levels.

Bobby Guess  is curently the Instrumental Fine Arts Coordinator in The Houston Independent School District and is a top call free-lance Bass Trombonist in the Houston area.  He performs in many venues and all styles ranging from The Symphony and church orchestras to big band and R & B funk. Bobby was a bass trombonist for Walt Disney Entertainment Productions in Anaheim, California, and has played for Broadway touring shows such as West Side Story, Kiss of the Spider Woman, My Fair Lady, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Hello Dolly, and Singin' in the Rain.  He has also performed with the Houston Symphony Orchestra on contrabass trombone in Schoenberg's Gurrelieder.

Mr. Guess has also been fortunate to have the opportunity to play with such great artists as Ray Charles, the Mills Brothers, the Platters, Lee Greenwood, Chris Vahdala, Paul McKee, Kay Starr, Steve Tyrell, Maynard Ferguson, Pete Christlieb, Dean Scott, Bobby Shew, Conrad Herwig, Bill Watrous, Jamie Abersold, Carl Fontana, Denis DiBlasio, Tom Kubis, Mavis Rivers and Matt Cantigub, Frank Mantooth, and Dennis Dotson.  Bobby actively performs with the Ricky Diaz Latin Jazz Orchestra, the Ronnie Renfrow Big Band, and is a member of the Second Baptist West Campus Church Orchestra.



Bobby Guess is an active brass clinician in the Texas gulf coast area; engineering clinics for brass performers of all ages and disciplines.
