Westfield High SchoolThe performing groups at Westfield have received state and national recognition for their performances. The "Big Red Band" was the Texas 5A State Champion in 1987, 1988, 1989, 1996, and 1998 and placed second in 1986, 1992, and 1994. The marching band was the first group from Texas to attend the Bands of America Grand Nationals. The Sousa Foundation has awarded the Westfield High School Band both the Sudler Shield for marching and the Sudler Flag for being a comprehensive band program. The Texas Music Educators Association has recognized the Westfield Symphonic Band as the State 5A Honor Band in 1989 and 2001. |
