What: Central Texas Marching Showcase
Where: Round Rock ISD Athletic Complex (10211 West Parmer Lane, Austin, TX 78717)
When: Saturday, October 3, 2009
• 6:45 AM Report to WHS (load truck)
• 7:00 AM Depart on Buses
• 10:00 AM Arrive and listen/watch performances
(Students will be in band shirt and shorts. You will have time to visit the concessions)
• 11:40 AM Change/prepare for performance
• 12:20 PM Warm-up (Site A)
• 1:00 PM PERFORMANCE!!
• 1:30 PM Awards/rating announcements
• 1:45 PM Load and Depart
• 2:30 PM Arrive at Highland Mall (6001 Airport Blvd. Austin, TX 78752)
(Students can eat a good meal here)
• 4:15 PM Depart Mall
• 7:00 PM (Approx) Arrive back to WHS
How Much:
• Students will need money for concession stands and money for a second meal late in the afternoon. Students can bring food/snacks from home on the bus (this is highly encouraged if the student chooses not to bring money for concessions/afternoon meal)
• Students will have the opportunity to purchase programs ($5), contest shirts ($10), patches ($7), and performance videos at the contest. Bring extra money at your discretion.
Remember:
• Percussion/equipment crew need to arrive early to load the truck
• Don’t forget your instruments/props
• Be sure to get your uniform and accessories before departing
• Band shoes and BLACK SOCKS, (you will be wearing your uniform shirt and shorts for travel)
• Bring extra reeds, valve oil, etc.
• CLEAN and SHINNY brass instruments (you can polish after school on Friday)
• There are no changing facilities. EVERYONE will change on the bus.
