Central Texas Marching Contest
Gerald Babbitt:
- Good playing in your band. Clean up the trumpet licks in your opener
- Good tubas- especially on the closer
- Band plays with a good characteristic tone quality
- Hold out phrase endings. Work on balancing chords. Work on music on field in marching sets.
- Some brass tuning issues. Good dynamic contrast. Work to add some visuals during long stand stills
- Work on your short steps. They are not as clean and precise as your larger steps
- The first step in a new direction needs to be full length and uniform from person to person
- Good fundamentals
Randy Vaughn:
- Very clean playing band! Wow! Loved it!
- Work to be more consistant with sound and precision. Work to always hear melody
- Outstanding Ensemble skills!
- Work to finish phrases and not drop ends of notes
- Wonderful marching fundamentals!
- Super individual marching skills!
- Now work to be more consistant with execution!
- Very impressive!
Richard Crain (sub):
- Wonderful sounds! Great arrangements!
- Overall balance and blend with only minor issues from time to time
- Excellent staging allows performers to be showcased
- Percussion clarity is an issue at times. Continue to strive for excellance and clarity
- Overall sonority of the ensemble is very good
- Continue to find opportunities for dynamic contrasts and growth from great musicality
- Form integrity is excellent however individual uniformity is still an issue
- Continue to strive for better carriage, shoulders must be square, stand taller, and be more confident!
- Great use of the dance team!
- Wow!
